Office EOY Party Guide For Men

It’s that time of year again!

The HR folks and planning committee have picked a date, theme, and/or dress code for the office End-of-Year (EOY) party. An actual ‘work’ event that doesn’t need being remote.

For some guys, though, the first thought isn’t “Woo, party!” but “What the heck am I going to wear?” Cue the panicked mall runs and last-minute outfit scrambles. But don’t worry—I’ve got you covered with some easy tips.

Theme

First, let’s decode the party vibe. Is there a specific theme this year? Say, “Wild Wild West”? Or maybe it’s a throwback to “90s Hip Hop”? Or “Old School Cool”? If the theme is super specific, you need to grab a few new pieces. But here’s the numero uno secret: accessories.

This can literally save the day.  For example, for a “Wild Wild West” theme, grab a cowboy hat or a bolo tie. Pair it with a crisp shirt, jeans, and boots. Add these items, and you’re golden. With “90s Hip Hop”, a bucket hat, some bling, and a loose-fitting jacket will nail the look. You get the idea? Any basic style can be elevated with the right touch (and quantity) of accessories.

No Theme?

However, if the party’s more “come as you are”, then this is your chance to shine without overthinking. After all, we can’t waste an opportunity to get noticed. But skip the usual smart-casual uniform and aim for something more edgy and fun. The goal is an outfit that oozes confidence and personality.

Try this look that pushes the boundary a notch. Soft leather pants with a matching top and good shoes with chunky sole. As seen above. Or a sharp blazer over a statement shirt, dark-wash jeans, and sleek loafers.

A few more tips:

  • Avoid loud colours
  • No blinding sparkles unless the theme says disco.
  • Comfort is key you’ll want to look good and still be able to dance or mingle.
  • Be yourself

PS — Professionalism doesn’t take a holiday. Drink responsibly.

Happy Holidays and Cheers to closing out the year in style! 🎉
