Where would you go on a shopping spree?
Next time I find myself in London town, I’m making a beeline for that world famous street market.

Travelers often visit the hot spots for tourist activities. Most shoppers include the high street boutiques in their itinerary. For me, though, that’s rather clichéd.
I want to immerse myself in the energy and culture of the location. Watching the locals in their element. Getting a first hand experience of the downtown.
My first experience in the summer of 2015 was so good. I felt like Alice in wonderland. In fact, there was a sense of accomplishment I didn’t know I needed to tick off my bucket list.

Portobello Road Market has that perfect flea market vibe. It is a weekly fair located in the Notting Hill zip code. But the best day to visit is on Saturdays. With cute stalls selling food, clothing, accessories, antiques, books and much more. I spent a lot of the time appreciating the brightly painted houses. Spotting vintage cars. Browsing street food offerings and people watching. I also sang along with busking street performers. And then haggled with a Jamaican shoe seller.

Anyway, I had fun and found one or two keepsakes which are still my wardrobe staples. Like this gold brooch (above), and newsboy hat (below). Two perfect additions to help keep my style unique.
